The ‘O’ Rings are used across a wide range of industries, including:

Encapsulated ‘O’ Rings can be found in various types of equipment in these industries, for example, in Pumps, Valves, Filter Elements, Mechanical Seals, Mixers & Vessels, Heat Exchangers and Flanges.

Available in a wide range of standard inch and metric section, the rings can be supplied as small as 4.5mm ID and with no restriction on maximum size!

BARNWELL OPENS IN DARTFORD

This strategic move is designed to improve their service levels to customers in the London area and the South East of England. The new, larger unit, located close to the Dartford Bridge and the M25 is ideally positioned to provide quality sealing products and additional services to industry in the region and reflects the strength and continuing expansion plans of the country's leading distributor.

A leading UK supplier of Air Rifles, selling on average 70,000 to 80,000 units a year, needed 15,000 Viton 'O' Rings in a hurry. The 'O' Rings are fitted to the loading bolt on a range of rifles that have firing mechanisms powered by CO2 capsules. The ring prevents gas escaping when the pellets are discharged.

After supplying a sample, the customer confirmed that the product was just what they were looking for and after a prompt delivery via our Dartford Service Centre; they immediately opened an account with us!

The Oil Seal has once again demonstrated its versatility with a very unusual application indeed!

In the latest series of "Doctor Who", the BBC prop department used rubber covered oil seals, fitted as bezels around each of the skirt hemispheres of the Daleks.

With the help of the original drawings, these have been identified by a group of enthusiasts who build 1:1 scale replicas for private display and regional charity work. Barnwell supply the required 56 Oil Seals per Dalek to enthusiasts all over the UK and have now received enquiries from all over the world!

CRIME REALLY DOES PAY FOR BARNWELL!

The 'O' Ring is famous for having a staggering range of applications and we at Barnwell are coming across very unusual applications for the product on a daily basis. Here is another one that we have added to our extensive portfolio:

We recently supplied 'O' Rings to a customer in the U.S.A., for use in a criminal tagging device. We supplied small Nitrile 'O' Rings to go over the thread of four small screws that hold the chip and printed circuit board, to stop any moisture getting to the chip. This allows the chip to operate by sending a signal to a satellite orbiting the earth and the GPRS ("General Packet Radio Service") system keeps track of tagged, early released prisoners.

To compliment our outstanding Image Branding Service, we also offer a unique customer branding service on our extensive range of sealing kits.

Our kits are supplied in handy, easy to use containers, with the part numbers and sizes displayed on the lid. However, if customers prefer to have their own brand image on the box then we are happy to oblige! A design will be drawn up based on their company logo and house colours and submitted for approval. The kit will then be supplied customer branded. Alternatively, kits can be supplied plain, without any branding.
