PEEK Seals – where thermal and mechanical resistance matters…

M Barnwell Services stocks and distributes a wide range of PEEK Seals that have been manufactured to provide excellent mechanical and thermal resistance.

Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is an organic thermoplastic polymer. It presents remarkable thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance features. PEEK Seals can be heated, cooled and heated again continuously without being subject to degradation. PEEK offers similar chemical resistance to that of PTFE, however with superior mechanical properties. It is proving to be more widely used and popular in all industries, in particular, processing technologies and equipment, as well as the food industry.

PEEK is one of the most robust materials, it has a high-temperature strength, with a continuous service temperature of +260°C (approx). They can be used in back-up rings under high stress or as a thrust ring or v-packing support ring, additionally, they can be used with injection moulding.

PEEK Seals

Unfilled PEEK is FDA, EC1935/2004 & EC2023/2006 EU Regulations compliant and complies with EU10/2011 European Law. There are several ways to adjust its mechanical properties with fillers such as PTFE, carbon fibers and glass fibers.
