Barnwell’s Heather Summerill Becomes An International Official

M Barnwell Service’s Management Accountant Heather Summerill lived a long ambition to become an International Swimming Official.

Between Wednesday 4th December and Sunday 8th December, Heather was officiating at the LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships held in Glasgow.

Heather oversaw (and kept in check) victories for Russia’s Vladimir Morozov in the 50m and 100m Freestyle, Great Britain’s Freya Anderson in the 100m and 200m Freestyle and Germany’s Marius Kusch setting a new National Record for the 100m Butterfly.

Commenting about the experience Heather said, “It was absolutely fantastic and a privilege.”

The meet was dominated by Russia who took home 13 gold medals which is the second-best haul in history.
