Fluid sealing products for the Renewable Energy Industry
M Barnwell Services supports all sectors of the Renewable Energy Industry and recognises the importance to reduce the emissions affecting the environment. To support this M Barnwell Services is ISO:14001 Accredited.
We are committed in our obligation to invest time, assets and technology into Renewable Energy and sustainable resources. A trend fast taking over the country, this option is becoming a popular alternative for consumers and businesses alike with running costs decreasing whilst fast gaining the ability to provide more energy than ever before.
This impressive and innovative technology utilises the use of carefully constructed materials need to support their critical functions. Dependent on their location, rubber seals are exposed to extreme heat, interminable sunlight and harsh weather conditions. Materials including Silicone and Fluoroelastomer (Viton™ and Aflas®) perfectly support these needs, withstanding temperatures ranging from -25.5° to +230° and pressures of 1 to 5 bar (14.7 to 72.5 psi) for most gearbox seals and up to 20-30 bar (290-435 psi) in hydraulic systems.
With a need to keep maintenance levels low, but performance levels high, the specification of each seal is taken into consideration.
Wind Farm Seals
Wind turbine components, in particular, require multitude of criteria to accommodate the function they support. HNBR Nitrile O Rings seals are used within the Main Bearing, ideal for their enhanced resistance to heat, aging, O-Zone and also high air-resistance.
PTFE seals are an ideal solution to the low-maintenance requirement of the renewable energy industry. As a self-lubricating seal, they are low to non maintenance.
We work with the leading manufacturers that supply a wide range of sealing products in compounds that meet the incredibly high-quality standards that are required.
